Lithuanian Kidney Patients‘ Association GYVASTIS – joins people who are waiting for transplantation (mostly kidney) or have experienced transplantation or are on dialysis. There are about 600 transplant patients and about 1500 on dialysis. Almost 1000 of these people belong to our organization.

One of our main tasks is to spread knowledges about organ donation. The more people know and support this idea, the more transplantations can be done and more people survive.

There is 2,5 years old boy Gustas who needs kidney–liver transplant and 4 little children who need liver transplants and 2 need complicated kidney transplants. Unfortunately these transplantations can‘t be done in Lithuania. It can be done abroad but parents need much money to pay for medicines, travel, staying abroad because our government pays for transplant surgery only.
